After making some clothing, a inner tent, a sleeping quilt and a few backpacks for himself, he learned the ins-and out of sewing, along with a few tricks and techniques unique to the making of lightweight outdoor gear. Eventually Les made his first backpack for sale in 2018. The response to Les’s backpack design and its features and quality was very positive. After a few design refinements based on real-time use and input from fellow backpackers, Les started Olympic UltraLite to simplify the process to sharing his products with others.
We are a small, essentially one-person company, working on a part time basis. From time to time we have products in stock and ready to ship, however, most orders do have a wait time, often only a week or two. We also accept custom orders based on the options listed for each product. Wait times may be a little longer in late spring and summer due to higher demand and Les being out hiking more.
